production has been gaining traction in recent years due to its favourable
economic prospects. Many progressive farmers, businesspeople, professionals,
ex-servicemen, and educated adolescents have been drawn to the goat business
because of the high demand for goats and their products, as well as the
potential for substantial economic returns. Entrepreneurs are also drawn to the
emergence of favourable market conditions and easy access to enhanced goat
technologies. A number of commercial goat farms have sprouted up in various
parts of the country.
