Fisheries
and Aquaculture: Aquaculture
refers to the farming of aquatic species such as fish, mollusks, crabs, and
plants in their natural environment. Production enhancement by involvement in
the rearing phase, such as regular stocking, feeding, and protection from
predators, is a key component of farming. Farming also includes the ownership
of livestock by an individual or a corporation, the design, development, and
management of aquaculture systems, locations, facilities, and procedures, as
well as the production and transportation of the livestock and other products.
